A Story Stitched with Love

At and the little dog laughed, every creation begins with a story — a thread of memory, a spark of imagination, a moment of comfort.

Founded in 2008 by Australian designer Kylie Platt, the brand was born from a love of childhood — the simple joy of play, the warmth of keepsakes, and the timeless magic of imagination.

The name comes from one of Kylie’s favourite nursery rhyme as a child “Hey Diddle Diddle” — a gentle reminder to laugh, dream, and hold onto the wonder of being little.

Because we know how special these friendships are, we keep a few of each of our softies tucked away — even after they’ve been discontinued. We call it our softie nursery — a quiet little corner where spare bunnies, bears and dogs wait to be loved again.

A great gift item!! Benedict arrived lovingly wrapped in tissue paper with a lovely ribbon all ready to deliver to the new baby in our circle of friends. I had to buy 2 because my grandson loves his Baaaarbra (daughter of Gladys) his first words were Baabaa … he needs it when he sleeps or is sick … so now we have spares!
